Longing for the old Africa?

About the novel, “At the Heart of Africa”

If you long for the old Africa and are ready to be transported to a campfire at night in the deep bush with the sounds of a lion roaring somewhere across the river, then, “At the Heart of Africa,” is for you.

Poachers, witchdoctors, and greedy foreign agents all make an appearance as the tale continues over a steaming hot cup of coffee at dawn. It is well-written and readable, with an unforgettable cast of characters including Moses, the tracker raised by Jesuits and Precious, the outlaw’s daughter yearning for more.

The paradoxes it explores are intriguing – differing visions of right and wrong, natural and supernatural, modernity and deep time, butterflies and galaxies!

All in all, a great read … a ripping yarn – bush style.
